Wow, it's been about a year since I've blogged. And it's about a month till my wedding.
There are a lot of unbelievable things that's happened since David and I started this journey to marriage:
-Reconciliation between me and my mom: we've had this very screwed up relationship for about four years. I was ready to accept that our wedding day will be an awkward time between me and my parents, but God did not let me settle for that.
-Reconciliation between my parents and his parents: they're not best of friends by any means. But they sure are willing to work things out as "co-parents" for the two of us.
-Abundant financial help: many friends and family have been generous to help us with wedding expenses. My dress, the cake, our dj, center pieces have been covered by those we love and love us.
-Many helping hands in my life in general: great team at work who are always willing to pick up slack for one another, very helpful and kind parents of my students who have made this year run smoothly, awesome girl friends, and a handful of mentors in this time of planning for transition.
Jesus had an encounter with a dad who's son was hysterically ill. The disciples have tried to provide healing but were unsuccessful. The dad finally came to Jesus and said "Lord, help my unbelief." I think I go through times when what I am given seems more than I can manage, and then I'm reminded of my life. Whenever I reach a point of unbelief, I don't have to look far or hard.
